Welcome Cassadi and Hailey to the new class of KCOM medical students :-)
Hailey defended her Master thesis - Yayyy!
The inaugural APS meeting was a blast and we got to see great science. Here some impressions from Long Beach:
Great meeting in Columbia and good to see old friends from that area. Hailey presented her work in form of a poster and flash talk. Congrats for achieving 1st place for your talk!
The manuscript from Chuma, John, Mahima, and Mason about early mophological changes in the nTS of the STZ-AD model has been accepted for publication in Brain Research! Congratulations all
The manuscript from John and Cassadi looks into the mechanisms behind baroreflex function in the STZ-AD animal model and will be published in Journal of Alzheimer's Disease. Congrats!
Dorothy and Brooke are leaving the lab to tackle new challenges in St. Louis and New York. Both will be greatly missed!
Congratulations to Brooke Diehl for her great ackomplishments and academic excellence in Biology at Truman State University. Well deserved!
Hailey Schmitz presented her Master Thesis Project with the title "Oxidative Stress and Neuronal Activity in the nTS of the STZ-AD Rat Model". She demonstrated good subject knowledge and handled questions very well. Now the real work can begin.
We had a great group going to the research conference in Philly. Robert Tipton presented his data on glutamate signilling in the nucleus tractus solitarii of the STZ-Alzheimer's disease rat model; Hailey Schmitz took back lots of new ideas to implement in her own experiments; and Brooke Diehl was inspired from all the great research in our field.
The lab got together for a christmas lunch at colton. Good way to end a productive research year :-).
